Spot and Stain Removal Service
Carroll’s Carpet & Upholstery provide a Spot and Stain removal service, trained by The National Carpet Cleaners Association, the industry’s specialists. There a 3 classifications of stains:
Absorbed Stain: The substance has penetrated into an often through the fibres, generally the result of a liquid spillage e.g. tea,coffee, beer, ink etc.
Built Up Stains: The main substance of the built up stain is on the surface of the fibres, almost like a a crust, which sticks to the fibres firmly. They comprise of dried solid food stains, paint stains, mud, putty and some varietys of adhesives.
Compound Stains: The variety ofa compound stain is a combination of the previous two types, part of the substance penetrating the fibres and the remainder staying on the surface. Some paint stains and blood is a typical “compound” type stain.
There is never any guarentee with stain removal. There are many factors that may make the complete removal of the stain impossible such as:
- The length of time the stain has been present in the fibres.
- The strength and temperature that it contaminated the fibres.
- Any previous attempts made to eradicate the stain.
Stainguard
Carroll’s Carpet & Upholstery provide a Stainguard protector which acts an invisable shield around your carpets and furnishings, making spills and stains easier to remove. Stainguard will not affect the colour, feel or texture of even the finest fabrics, while still retaining fire retardant properties. Spillages are mopped up with absorbent tissues or sponge, whilst dried stains are more easily removed.
